ViaPorto employees united to support victims of the fires in Pedrógão Grande providing support with donations. Cleaning, personal hygiene and pharmacy products were donated to help minimize the impact of the fire on several local communities.
During December 2016, ViaPorto supported Make-A-Wish in making wishes come true, through the purchase of Christmas stars!
Make-A-Wish fulfills the wishes of children and young people between the ages of 3 and 18, with serious, progressive, degenerative or malignant illnesses, to bring them a moment of joy and hope (www.makeawish.pt). At this moment about 100 children and young people are waiting for the fulfillment of their wish.
Collection of goods and hygiene products for children supported by this group, carried out in July and August 2014 Coração na Rua is a group of people who gathers moved by the desire to help those in need, and puts their heart on the streets. Divided in groups in several points of the city of Oporto, they offer food to the homeless to eat and kits to take; they also distribute clothes for all, respecting the needs of each.
ViaPorto donated baby wipes, diapers, toiletries, cereals and crackers.
ViaPorto collected 10 boxes of clothes and toys in July and August 2014. This is a child and youth support association to address cases of children and young people at risk, especially in the Municipality of Maia. Children are placed there by the authorities (Commission for the Protection of Children and Family Court) until they are sent to Shelter Homes or adoption or even they return to the biological parents.
ViaPorto also contributed with diapers, baby wipes, milk and cereals.
10 boxes with blankets, quilts, clothes and shoes collected by VIAPORTO in October 2013. This Association provides social support, home care, education and recreation for children, poor people and the elderly in the city of Oporto.
ViaPorto also contributed with the donation of reflective jackets, disposables (cups and spoons), freezer for transportation and storage of food and a container for transportation and distribution of coffee.
About 300 goods (food, hygiene products and blankets) collected between May and July 2013. Group of volunteers supporting about 200 homeless or disadvantaged people (including children and the elderly) of Oporto. Every Thursday evening volunteers distribute food (bread, soup, drink, dish of meat or fish, fruit salad, pastries and coffee), blankets, toiletries and a food kit (milk, biscuits, yogurts, fruit, sandwich and, if possible, sausages or tuna) for the next day.
ViaPorto also contributed by duplicating all the goods collected by employees.
